February is a short month…but has been a packed one.
The BIG News!
The big news on a family front is our 41st anniversary. Beverly and I celebrated in a big way and went to Cape Town, South Africa for a week.
The GREAT Need!
While there we saw a greater Cape Town population of 4 million people! We found only one Independent Baptist missionary that is KJV. Won’t you pray for this city with a GREAT need?
A REAL Encouragement!
This month saw Andries finish the gospel studies. He has a real hunger to continue studying and to grow. Pray for him and outreach to his village.
God’s Timing NOT Ours!
We continued the studies in the Sebedelia region. Two of the five studies are moving forward, though at times is seems slow…I remind myself it is a very different pace here.
Setbacks Bring GREAT Opportunity!
The postal service seems to be starting to operate again after 5 months of being shut down…but this month brought news that one of the major unions is planning another strike unless their new demands are met. So postal contact and delivery cannot be relied upon here. This greatly hampers our delivery of Bible study offers as well as the courses. Thus we have been cut off from about 350 students.
But necessity is the mother of invention! Looking for a way to deliver studies without the postal service has brought about a new method using digital delivery. This will keep some people out of the loop, but surprisingly many do have access. I am presently refining this delivery method and will be putting it in full action very soon.
This is a culmination of over 4 years of searching for a method to make this work…interactive Bible studies delivered digitally. I was not sure how to make it all happen, but now it seems we have the biggest hurdles cleared and only need to refine some small issues before making a big splash with this method. Watch for the announcement that is coming!
Your Intercession IS Needed!
1. Key men to be developed…I have 5 men I am working with and all at various stages of growth…pray we can see them continue in the Word.
2. Key men to be found…my prayer is 12 key men preaching the Word to others by the end of the year…an ambitious goal…but praying we can see it accomplished.
3. Permission from the University of Limpopo to meet with students on campus. We have petitioned for permission last September…they lost the letter…now are asking for another letter to consider the request.
