Not by Might nor by Power

How true God’s Word is! Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord of Hosts.

I awoke rather ill today, but had an early appointment to meet with a contact in a village that I had been cultivating for several weeks. So although it was rainy and I was feeling like staying in bed, I got up and went to meet with him. What a meeting! Talk about something to lift you off your sickbed! 🙂

This man, Dadoni, has been friends with a number of people for many years that have been involved with offering sacrifices to God as their African religion has taught them. He has recently been studying the Bible with me and today we were going over one of the studies. At the conclusion he told me that he and the group of friends he meets with have come to the conclusion that sacrifices are wrong and that Jesus is the final sacrifice. He wanted to know my thoughts. 🙂 What a time we had in the Bible as I showed him the truths of God’s Word regarding Jesus as the final and finished sacrifice for sin.

He then asked me if I would be willing to meet with this group of people and him to study the Bible on a regular basis. Would I be interested? Am I a Baptist? 🙂

We have tentatively set up to begin meetings in a couple of weeks. Until then I will be going with him to the chief to introduce myself and let him know what I am doing in his village.

Although still feeling under the weather, I came home quite refreshed in spirit and glad I got out of bed. 🙂

What was done was the work of God, not of my strength. Sometimes we will notice if we pay attention that the Lord works when we cannot just to show us that He is the One doing the work. 🙂
