Well, I hired a Twana agent today that works with Residence Permits. He was appalled that I have been waiting for almost 6 months now. He said it should have only taken 2 weeks. 🙂 So he called the lady I had the name and number for.
It was classic…he was sent to several different offices via the phone. When he finally got to someone in authority, they said that there are no applications for any of the Hammett family on file, except my daughter. He then asked about my son, which I had seen his file on Tuesday. NO, that does not exist. 🙂
When he got off the phone we had a good laugh. Now we have a few more papers to get in order to prove I have already paid the fees. Then we can go back to the Immigration office and start the process again. But this time with someone who understands the process and should be able to cut through at least some of the red tape. Remember this is the government, so don’t get too excited just yet. 🙂
It really was a joy to my soul to see that it was not just the dumb American that could not cut through all of this. There is light at the end of the tunnel…hoping it is not the headlight of the train. 🙂
Residence Permit Saga continues! :-)
