Check out this special invitation to Thanksgivng 2013 Service in Allentown, Pa.
Hey, Could I ask you to do something for me?
Ok, but first let me tell you why…
I am Doug Hammett. I am serving in Botswana Africa right now. We are having a great time working with people here in the villages.
For 23 years I was able to be part of the Thanksgiving Service at Lehigh Valley Baptist Church.
It was always a great time as we reminded ourselves of how thankful we are for all God has done for us over this last year.
Sometimes being thankful takes some intentional action on our part, but it is ALWAYS rewarded when we do.
This year at the Thanksgiving Service Lehigh Valley Baptist will be helping the Circle of Hope Girls Ranch in Humansville, Mo.
They have been taking in troubled girls and making a huge difference in their lives since 2005.
So at the Tuesday night service there will be a love offering taken that you can be a real help to these girls. If you can’t give, there is no pressure or guilt, but just thought you would want to know about that.
In the service you will hear the famous handbell choir play. I will miss that.
You will hear the testimonies of several of the members as they tell of things they are thankful for. I will miss that.
I can tell you I never went to this service without being encouraged at the end. I will miss that.
So back to my question…Could I ask you something?
Would you stand in for me?
No, I am not insisting you give in the offering. In fact you will probably hear something like, ‘we did not ask you here to take your money, so don’t feel it is necessary to give.”
But what I am asking you to do is to stand in for me and encourage the handbell choir by being there.
Encourage those who will be telling of the blessings of this last year.
And leave yourself encouraged at the end of the service.
Could you do that for me? and for you?
The service is 7PM on Tuesday, Nov 26th at Lehigh Valley Baptist Church in Emmaus.

Thanks for considering my question on this video. Doug Hammett signing off.
Hope to hear you were there.
